Please join the Program on U.S.-Russia Relations at the Harriman Institute for a presentation by Tymofii Brik, Assistant Professor at the Kyiv School of Economics and Fulbright Scholar at New York University, on his paper “Historically driven supply-side theory of participation in religion: new evidence from the thirty years of religious pluralism in Ukraine.”
In his paper, Brik asks whether religious pluralism can predict the level of church attendance in a region, and whether it can shape electoral behavior. Employing a sociological framework of “religious supply theory” and using a variety of statistical models, Brik analyzes the consequences of religious change in all regions of Ukraine from 1992 to 2018.
