The Oscar-nominated writer of the worldwide bestseller Room returns to Irish Arts Center to read from her riveting new masterpiece, The Wonder,/i>. After Donoghue’s reading, she will be joined in conversation with American novelist and screenwriter Sheri Holman.
Emma Donoghue again delves in to the emotional life of a child with an intimate and mysterious tale of two strangers and how they change each other’s lives forever. Set in 1850s rural Ireland and written with all the propulsive tension that made Room a phenomenon, The Wonder tells the story of Anna, a girl who has stopped eating but mysteriously remains alive, and Lib, the English nurse charged with observing her.
