St. Valentine’s with Czech Fashion Designers

Wednesday, February 14, 2018 @ 7:00 pm9:00 pm

Fill your Valentine’s Day with Czech fashion, block printing workshop and a documentary about Manolo Blahnik. Enjoy a documentary about Czech-Spanish fashion designer Manolo Blahnik, a fashion exhibition with a pop-up shop by Czech-Australian demi-couture designer Iva Pfeiffer, and a block printing workshop with Czech-American artist Petra Valentová.

7 PM in the Cinema [1st Floor]: Manolo: The Boy Who Made Shoes for Lizards (2017)

Dvelve into an in-depth portrait of Manolo Blahnik, self-confessed ‘cobbler’ and the man regarded by most influential fashion figures as the best high-end shoe designer of the 20th and 21st centuries. This is a film for anyone who has ever looked longingly at a pair of ‘Manolos’.

8 PM in the Gallery [2nd Floor]: TRANSLATION: Moving Between Cultures

Revel in an exhibition of the newest collection by New York Fashion Week participant Iva Pfeiffer, presented at Milan Fashion Week. Inspired by her recent journey to India, Pfeiffer shows how we can weave our variances to claim a common texture – humanity. The event features a workshop on traditional block printing with the designer herself and Petra Valentová.
