Screening: “Monte Sole – Landing Memories”

This screening is part of Primi al Cinema, a new Casa Italiana series dedicated to debut films, American and New York premieres and other cinematographic novelties from and about Italy.

Monte Sole – Landing Memories (2016, Documentary, Italy, 50 min.). In Italian with English subtitles. Directed by Stefano Ballini.

The documentary begins with the 1944 Nazi massacre of Monte Sole, Marzabotto, as told by mayor Romano Franchi through the story of his family of farmers who witnessed the massacre of nearby Faggiolo. It is followed by witness accounts by the survivors. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with director Stefano Ballini.
