Performance: BronxBerlinConnection

Since 2008, Gangway e.V. – Social Work in Berlin conducts a transatlantic youth exchange program, BronxBerlinConnection. Over the course of 9 years, what once was just a trip to New York with a group of young people from Berlin has grown into a transatlantic network for youth from disadvantaged social, economic and racial backgrounds that provides context for annual exchanges in Berlin and the Bronx. While the hip-hop culture served as the original platform for these exchagnes, today the program includes young people who participate through projects in visual arts, music, creative writing, poetry and political advocacy.

This year BronxBerlinConnection brings to New York a group of young talented dancers and MCs, who will present a survey of various dance styles with rap elements.
