Music on Park Avenue: Evenings with Pianist Per Tengstrand

In his Music on Park Avenue concert series, Swedish pianist Per Tengstrand performs the masters with a focus on a chamber music repertoire, highlighting distinguished composers and guest musicians.

Tengstrand explores the so-called late period of Beethoven’s piano sonatas, in which the composer was constantly innovating. These sonatas were not easily understood or appreciated by his contemporaries, but are now seen as the pinnacle of his creativity. Featured works include Piano Sonata No. 26 in E-flat major, Op. 81, Piano Sonata No. 27 in E minor, Op. 90, and Piano Sonata No. 28 in A major, Op. 101.

Concert begins at 7:30 PM with a pre-concert talk at 7:00.
