Fluffy Bao Trio, formed in 2018, comprises three Columbia students: second-year economics major and violinist Annett Ho, second-year English major and Juilliard exchange cellist Zoe Lin, and third-year neuroscience major and pianist Heather Hsun Chang. The group’s name references a Chinese steamed bun, or bāo zi, known for its light and fluffy (and delicious!) texture as a nod to the musicians’ common Taiwanese roots. In their time together, the ensemble has appeared in New York venues such as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and Columbia’s Maison Française and Faculty House. They are coached by Muneko Otani.
