The Negri-Gutman Duo was formed in 2011 by Refael Negri and Delilah Gutman, launching an interesting concert activity. In addition to concerts in Italy and abroad (USA, Switzerland and the Czech Republic, among others), they have carried out projects such as the CD’s “ITalYa” and “Castiglioni Gutman 1952-2016”, albums edited by Stradivarius and reviewed by the major Italian critics such as A.Foletto, E.Girardi, R.Cresti, A.Milanesi, G.Barbieri, A.Bedetti.
Delilah Gutman
Of Italo-American origins, born in Madrid. She works and lives in Milan and Rimini where, since 2007, she is the head of the Cultural Association DGMA she founded. She has directed and produced the editions of international composition competitions, projects such as “Percorsi del Sentire” music and poetry, “DoNnA”, “Andy Warhol and the music”, “Andy Warhol superstar”, and the editions of the music festivals “Silenzio Musica” and “Musica d’Arte” (She aims to create interdisciplinary musical projects focused on well-defined themes.) Recently, in Milano, with Prof. Raphael Negri, renowed violinist, founded the Jewish Music Studies Centre “ITalya” at Beth Shlomo Centro Studi.
Graduated in piano, composition and electronic music at the Conservatorio “Giuseppe Verdi” of Milan, she studied Composition with Bruno Zanolini, Niccolò Castiglioni and Alessandro Solbiati, Electronic music with Riccardo Sinigaglia and piano with Lidia Baldecchi Arcuri, with whom she perfected. Attended masterclasses with György Ligeti, Salvatore Sciarrino and Luca Francesconi. Singing studies with Sergio Bertocchi. She earned a Master’s degree in Music Discipline- Theatrical Composition, at the Music Academy “Gioacchino Rossini” of Pesaro, Department of Higher Education in Art, Music and Dance, mentor Filippo Maria Caramazza, with the presentation of her opera “Jeanne and Dedò”, on libretto by Manrico Murzi, and the dissertation on her music theory: Pericronismo – Perichronism, Music Theory.
She graduated from the University of Urbino “Carlo Bo” with a Master in SLD (Specific Learning Disorders), SEN (Special Educational Needs) and Psychopedagogy, Didactics, Communication with the thesis “The Human Voice, Listening and Expression. An Instrument for Diagnosis and Social Inclusion for Family, Educators and Teachers ” and from the same University with a Master in Conflicts Mediation with the thesis ” The Imaginative Voice: Tool of Training and Therapeutic Action in the Mediation of Conflicts “.
On the occasion of her vocal concert during the unveiling of a monument to the victims of the Shoà in Eilat, she was honoured with Friendship Ambassador Israel-Italy award.
As Artistic Director she collaborates with Origini, on the multidisciplinary and multilevel project Kinder-Räume.
She performs as pianist and singer, as soloist, in ensemble and chamber music.
As a Composer, she has had, so far, more than one hundred premières in Italy and abroad, several radio broadcasting, publications and recordings. She publishes with Stradivarius Musical Editions, Sinfonica Musical Editions, Ut Orpheus Editions, Curci Musical Editions.
Refael Negri
He graduated in violin at the Conservatory “Luca Marenzio” Brescia ( Italy ) with Valerio Pappalardo and then with a great teacher Enzo Porta, of which he was an assistant in the course of “The musical aspects of the ‘900” at the Conservatory of Parma; he studied with Boris Belkin in Academy Chigiana of Siena, with Corrado Romano in Geneva ( Switzerland ) and Dora Schwarzberg ( Wien ). He has won numerous competitions, including those of Genoa, Rome, Taranto ( under the high patronage of the President of the Italian Republic ) and Biella ( Turin ). In 2006 he received the Prix Anne Marie Bollo Rambaud, in Moneglia ( Genoa ). He’s violinist of Tel Aviv Soloists Ensemble and also he plays with the Jerusalem Baroque Orchestra, Barrocade of Tel Aviv, Ensemble Ritmo e Anima of Beer Sheva. Active with contemporary music, of which he is one of the main performers, he has seen him collaborate with numerous ensembles, such as Dedalo Ensemble of Brescia, Icarus of Reggio Emilia, New Made of the Contemporary Music Center of Milan of which he was President. He is a member of the European String Teachers Association. He has played, like concertmaster, for over a decade with the ensemble Europa Galante and Resonance, Zephyro, Divino Sospiro of Lisbon. He partecipated in numerous recordings for EMI, Opus 111, RAI, Dynamic, Radio France, BBC, Nippon TV, and has performed like solist in concert halls of the most important cities in the world, like Tokyo, Sydney ( Sidney Opera House ), Washington, London ( Barbican ), Berlin ( Philharmonie ), Paris, Vienna ( Konzerthaus ), La Scala in Milan, Tel Aviv, Lisbon, Amsterdam, New York, Madrid, Moscow, Sao Paulo (Brazil), Hong Kong, Budapest, Prag, Bergen and also in Korea, China, New Zealand, Canada, Mexico. Frequently invited to give master classes, is professor of violin,Baroque violin and Chamber Music course of the 900 and Contemporary at the Conservatory “Luca Marenzio” in Brescia, Italy. He recently made his debut at Carnegie Hall in New York.
