The award-winning French actress Irène Jacob and her brother Francis Jacob offer an intimate musical performance at the Maison Française of songs from their new album, En Bas de Chez Moi, with Irene on vocals and Francis on guitar, and song lyrics composed by the duo.
Backed by two reknowned musicians from Senegal, Mamadou Ba on Bass and Alioune Faye on percussion, the band lends a delightful accent of World Music to the duo of Irène and Francis, whose music is rooted in the French gypsy jazz tradition.
Irène Jacob is an internationally acclaimed French actress whose films include Au Revoir les Enfants,The Double Life of Véronique, Three Colors: Red (1994), and Eternity (2016).
Francis Jacob is a guitarist and composer, based in New York City. In between Jazz and World Music, his compositions have been nominated twice in the Grammy Awards.
