Blarney Star Concert Series: Joey Abarta, Nathan Gourley & Owen Marshall

Uilleann piper Joey, fiddler Nathan and bouzouki player Owen constitute a Boston-based traditional music power trio. Joey, a California transplant who has taken well to New England soil, is a one of America’s top home-grown pipers. Nathan hails from Minnesota, where he soaked up traditional tunes and style from County Offaly accordion legend Paddy O’Brien. Their 2016 album Copley Street, which featured generous portions of Greek bouzouki backing from Vermonter Owen Marshall, was one of the year’s finest Irish traditional music recordings.

Free admission to Members of Glucksman Ireland House and to all students/faculty with a valid NYU I.D. card. For non-members: $15 donation at the door for the Blarney Star Concert Series.
