ART-ARTUSI: The Feast Days Food in Artusi Cuisine
Thursday, November 17, 2016 @ 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm
As part of the first Week of Italian Cuisine in the World, Casa Artusi and the Emilia-Romagna Region organize an event for the launch of Art-Artusi, an innovative project aimed at promoting Italian culture all over the world with innovative tools and on digital platforms.
The focus is homemade family cuisine, especially feast day specialties that embody the notion of ‘Italian healthy lifestyle’, which brings together high quality products, know-how, innovative research, the importance of ‘togetherness’ and food as a common language and as a way to meet and communicate with other people.
This is the first time that a food-related hackathon is simultaneously organized in two countries: Italy, Pellegrino Artusi’s home country, and the State of New York, which has made the best use of a mutually beneficial cultural experience.
Pellegrino Artusi (1820-1911) was the author of what is still considered the fundamental source for the study of Italian cuisine, The Science of Cooking and the Art of Fine Dining.
Typical products from the Emilia-Romagna region will be prepared and offered by Casa Artusi at the end of the presentation.
Panelists:
Francesco Genuardi, Consul of Italy in NY
Stefano Albertini, NYU
Stefano Bonaccini, Emilia-Romagna Region Governor
Gianni Riotta, Journalist and Princeton University Professor
Simona Caselli, Councilor for Agriculture of the Emilia-Romagna Region
Andrea Segrè, Scientific Committee of Casa Artusi
