Jet Lag: Season 3, Episode 1 — Debate within the European Sex Industry
Produced by Zijia Eleanor Song and Susanne Schweitzer.
In this episode, we look at the European commercial sex industry and discuss the contentious definition of human trafficking. We talk to Anna Zobina, the chair of the European Network of Migrant Women (ENoMW), and Luca Stevenson, coordinator at the International Committee on the Rights of Sex Workers in Europe (ICRSE), about whether selling sex for money classifies as work, and how Europe’s criminal and migration policies apply to people in the sex industry. At the end, we also examine the challenges facing human trafficking victims and self-identified sex workers in Europe during the COVID crisis.
