For film and literature buffs, this weekend is chock full. The Brooklyn Academy of Music is screening film after Polish film for Kino Polska: New Polish Cinema. Meanwhile, Festival Neue Literatur has events scattered across Manhattan and Brooklyn.
I’m looking forward to a panel on Saturday about literature in translation put on by Festival Neue Literatur at the Bowery Poetry Club (12:30 pm, 308 Bowery). And on Sunday there will be a reading at Deutsches Haus NYU (12 pm, 42 Washington Mews) with Pedro Lenz, Xaver Bayer, Sybille Berg, Iris Hanika, Christopher Kloeble and Vea Kaiser.
Round out Sunday with one of the last films of Kino Polska, Filip Bajon’s dark comedy Damaged (trailer above).
